In seriousness I don’t remember the actual origins of the Ryu video, I THINK it was meant to be parodying how painfully bland SF5 seemed at first? But it just caught on beyond that.

It’s evolved beyond that to be endearing

i mean, i always took it as a parody of ryu himself, and not SF5's blandness in general.

In that Ryu has, well

the most basic bitch moveset known to man

(and we love him for it)

but i don't think anyone actually knows where the video came from or why

It was around SF5 coming out I think, so I believe ending with the “see you in Street Fighter 5, everybody!” That feels like the potential combined intent

But it doesn’t matter, it’s ascended into legend now
