So my uncle used to be a professional mime/clown and... yep.

Additionally, a mime can't talk unless they're wearing a specific makeup.

Also, TMK, everyone is supposed to develop a slightly individualized makeup; they're not supposed to copy other clowns' complete look.

There's a database out there, IIRC. There's also the clown eggs.

That's what I was thinking of! But this stuff was also drilled into me as a kid. He used to do this show called The Marionette's Dream about a clown in love with a ballerina. At the end, the ballerina would be gone and the clown would be sad, but a little girl would walk up to him and give him a rose and it would cheer him up.

as an actual little girl I was qualified to play one.
