[work] I have just completely given up on this job at this point.

had a "lovely" conversation with my boss and an HR person the other day where it was like,

them: we've noticed that you've been slacking off a lot, what can we do to get your performance back up

me: I've been slacking off as a stress response because I'm overloaded, we had five people on the team last year and were barely getting by and now we have three people and more to do, you can help by hiring more people so I'm not overwhelmed by more than I can possibly get done

them: ok but besides that

I'm really annoyed because I liked what I was doing back when the expectations were reasonable but the service my team offers has clearly not proven itself as profitable enough to the company to justify the cost of having enough people to actually keep it running

I don't expect this department to still be here in five years and I've got better things to do than try to bail out this sinking ship

but uuuuugh what an annoying time to do a job search on top of everything else
