[more family health news] my mom is ok, this is extended family stuff itp, mute at will

my aunt Nora (she is the wife of my dad's youngest brother Johnny) recently went through chemo for breast cancer and they believed the outlook was good

she texted me this morning to say the post-chemo tests found it had already spread to her lung and liver. and y'all know what that means.

she's just so devastated and I'm truly sad, Nora is one of the relatives I have always vibed with the most even though she "married in" so-to-speak we have always got along

She named her only child Nick because he was born the year after my dad passed away. So idk there has always been kind of a bond there

4th of July used to be the family get-tohether holiday they hosted because they used to have a pool, lots of memories there. This 4th probably will be the last time we see her.

it's that useless feeling, you know? when you get news like this. you want to spring into action and start Solving The Problem but there's nothing you can do, it just makes you physically upset on top of emotionally

got her a really pretty necklace at the jewelry boutique at the mall cuz idk what else to do :/

yeah :/ I offered to take her out for a pedicure sometime and gave her mine and mom's love and time whenever she needs, I wish I could do more but like what can you do

they do live like 45 minutes away from us and she has Johnny and her son too, I think Nick lives elsewhere with his girlfriend rn but I hope he comes home for this

plus the rest of our family is here if she needs anything, it's just so. augh.
