Villain
I suggested this as a joke when Hannah was brainstorming stupid shovelware games but now I can’t stop thinking about it: Idol Tower Defense
Villain
Combination tower defense/rhythm game
Villain
You are the manager of a company that runs security a concerts
Villain
You have to protect various groups/bands through their touring season
Villain
Against various threats that range from deranged otaku trying to rush the stage to demonic invaders from hell that are trying to rush the stage because they’re also deranged otaku
Villain
Each level is one song
Villain
Each song encourages the audience to stand in different configurations, creating the path you have to defend
Villain
So you choose the order of songs for each concert
Villain
So you might want to save the song that makes a really twisty path for a difficult level
Villain
But maybe the song with a straighter path is worth more points if you use it as your finale
Villain
Then you deploy new towers security agents and move old ones around between songs
Villain
Depending on which group you’re defending, doing well on the rhythm game portions can power up your agents, slow down fans, give you more money for paying defenders, or cause other useful effects
Villain
I think this game would be fun
Infychu
That sounds pretty rad TBH
Infychu
Bonus points if there's a goofy challenge mode where the idols are the security and the security are on stage performing, so they're not nearly as good at running interference.
MaxSalsa
I would absolutely play this.
Wild Child
that sounds pretty neat
Villain
Themed powers for different groups
Villain
The metal group has fans jumping out of the crowd to mosh pit in the path, slowing down and damaging attackers
Villain
The genki girls boost the attack speed of your agents
Villain
The super cute band has a special power where they do a catch phrase and signature pose and all attackers stop to mimic them
Villain
Etc etc
Infychu
OMG good
