It could reference Lagerfeld's fascination with China. The kimono jacket for example, the light blue and red, uncommon together in Western fashion, but not in Chinese. It could be to be a nod to chinoiserie. Or it could be that she thought Lagerfeld was a racist POS & didn't deserve the honoring.

somehow i doubt it’s that last one. she is never on theme IMO. Lagerfeld was also a POS in relation to fat women, but no one seems to remember that.

Oh, he was a POS every way a person can be. He thought sexual battery was part of a model's job and yes, he would probably die rather than dress Lizzo, but he's dead.
