This is an interest check for Lovely Place, a panfandom jamjar/AU hybrid game. The game will alternate between the standard setting and full AU simulations every other month!
Due to the nature of the game, every genre will have some representation, but there will be an overarching theme of psychological horror as characters have their values, relationships, and identities challenged by each simulation.
All my money for a Pleasantville-style/Hallmark movie setting with all the possible cliches you can imagine, possibly with a horror twist. A sci-fi jaunt in a derelict ship that's slowly shutting down life support and there's nothing the characters can do about it, or a turn of the century gothic murder mystery set in london with supernatural villains.
Space Wizards is the closest we'd get. Fandom influence is fine but it should be made its own thing enough that people who are unfamiliar with that fandom can get it as well as anyone else. That said, it's something I'll get feedback from the playerbase about once the game gets rolling.
If there ends up being a lot of desire for specific fandom AUs and not a lot of opposition then I'm open to it! But I figured it's best to start off with completely original settings first.
When I have a set date for the TDM, there'll be an EMP/rundown of the setting a few days before it goes up. And there will be non-AU options to play with as well.
Oh man I don't know if I can join because of my nonexistent work life balance but this is everything I want in a game. It looks SO FUN, I hope it takes off!
