Question: setting aside any social or political issues, how could you possibly enforce a law "banning drag"? Would I violate it by wearing pants instead of a dress? Men in cropped tee shirts, kilts, or platform shoes? Women in flannel shirts, suspenders, or barn jackets? Will my 19 month old granddaughter be forced to only wear skirts and dresses?
I think that's the entire point. It's so vague so it can be enforced selectively.
Years ago one neighborhood in my area started trying to "clean up" a section of the city. So they started enforcing existing laws - like jaywalking and sitting on sidewalks.
But I would bet that if I, a fairly well dressed woman, were to sit on a sidewalk chatting with a friend we wouldn't be ticketed. It is technically illegal, but it was used as a way to target less "desirable" people.
Trust me, I’m right there with you, but recognize that there’s pretty much nothing I can do about it. The far-right has masterfully manipulated the U.S. into slowly destroying democracy, and I think we are too far gone to recover.
