Top: Flint of some sort. Broken piece was intentional. It was the first piece slabbed off a rock and I was testing for fracture. Bottom: Orange NoClueite. Those little chunks that stick out also intentional. Not supposed to saw all the way through ... in case they break falling off.

Or get caught between the blade and the arbor (that holds the blade), which happened Monday. When slabbing, I break out the lawn chair and a book and sit in the garage doorway.
