also just because idk where to put it, a fun fact: I briefly considered making taiki a PC character, then decided it'd be funnier if he was unable to use a topaz. instead, I apped Cleo as my resident meathead
it turned out to be the right call since I struggle to get invested in my male characters, even though taiki is my favorite
