I would like to invite rambling about tryse deciding to do brain-melting!

There's a few very simple reasons for making Aloy question things the way she did. The biggest is that one of Tryse's major flaws is that, while she likes to portray herself as calm and in control of everything, she actually tends to get carried away a lot.

She doesn't usually let it be obvious, but she kind of hyperfixates on a thing sometimes and lets common sense and her usual limits fall by the sidelines. Sometimes it's research, sometimes it's overcoming a challenge, sometimes it's revenge, and sometimes it's a simple as "I'm having a good time, let's keep it going."

Also, while the ale she brews isn't incredibly potent, she was still a bit drunk at that point.

And, finally, she really does just have fun needling people at times. It's not often hostile, but she does like to see people squirm and exit their comfort zones. In this instance, she just felt like she could drag Aloy a bit, and as a bonus, Aloy might enjoy things.

Also, so that last bit wasn't so final after all-

Tryse is still figuring out sexuality and physical affection herself? It's a weird thing. She spent most of her life uninterested, met a certain Someone, and then everything got turned up to 11 all of a sudden and she's still kind of rewriting her definitions of what's acceptable after that.

A door that she hadn't realized she'd mentally locked off got opened and she stepped through and she's still cataloging things.

But it really does mostly boil down to "She was having fun, she thought Aloy would enjoy it, and she got carried away."
