Folks with straight hair, I have a question:

Do hair clips really leave dents in your hair? Or like bends or whatever?

Like. Barrette style clips, not the claw ones

I ask because I have seen similar comments to this in just about every ASMR hairstyling video I've ever watched, and my hair is Very Curls, so this is not exactly a phenomenon I have personally experienced

My hair isn’t completely straight naturally, but I blow it out so it’s pretty much there. If I use a beret clip all day, yes, it does.

Probably! I think it also depends on how wet/dry the hair is, the weather that day -- if my hair is stuck in any position, it’ll take on that shape in the right conditions.

yah I get a kink in it after I use pretty much anything that holds it in place

but my hair WANTS to be straight - it's very heavy, long. So nothing lasts long

clips are the most dramatic, but even elastic, if I tie it tight and leave it all day

not that anything really stays all day in my hair coz it's slippery too

ohhhh yes. if I clip long bangs back with a snap barrette, after a few hours when I take the barrette out, my hair just Goes to the side and then comes down lol
