I ordered gyros on pita. The menu said it came with fries, but I didn’t find them at first. They were under the meat, onions, and tomatoes. I counted 4.

heylisa : The meat’s different. Souvlaki uses cubed meat, gyros has stacked meat on a spit that’s sliced.

I think I’ll stick to souvlaki.

Oh! I used to go to a place called the Souvlaki Stop that had bit meats on skewers, then they sliced it and put it in pita with tsats... that sauce made from cucumbers, lettuce, and tomato. That was Gyros. I LOVED that.

Now I've been to the local gyro place and they take strips of meat out of the freezer and throw them on the grill. Not the same at all.
