Mostly that idek, a lot of 20-somethings are still really dumb at that age and get themselves into scary non-consensual scenarios, but that might also be a ymmv thing.

I see it as a YMMV thing but I think it's unfair to argue this if 18 year olds are able to work, vote, marry, and go to college, you know?

especially in terms of voting, like there's Republicans already wanting to raise the voting age to 21

and plus, it would just make teen pregnancy worse, if anything

it won't stop anyone under 18 from having sex so we're better off just teaching consent and safe sex rather than pushing age of consent to 21

If anything, I think I mostly see it as a sliding scale of what age the brain matures, if that makes sense? Like, I do also think people are a little overprotective of teens looking at porographic content. They're smart enough to tick a box if they really want to see it. But conversely, I still wouldn't trust a 20 yo to run off with a 40 yo if u feel me.

you could go deeper and say the brain doesn't stop maturing until your mid 20s, too
