and remembering one of the weirdest, most annoying posters in it

who kept speaking up during the latter half of the question arcs with takes like

"if magic requires faith then the best counter tactic is aggressive indifference, battler just has to refuse to engage with beato in any way until she gives up'

"battler should dispute the efficacy of the red to keep beatrice in perpetual check so she gets bored and leaves"

checkmate atheists

"the optimal playstyle for the human sides is to be annoying and refuse to engage with the story and ruin it as a logical system why isn't he doing that"

"battler has no reason to engage emotionally with this witch that's full of hidden depths of agony who's murdering his entire family over and over"

oh my GOD THIS GUY

i had forgotten about them and then all my long-repressed annoyance crashed back into me like a tidal wave

i can smell the fedora from here

every theory that starts with "what if we reject the veracity of the red truth" just leads to "then 70% of the text of the story was just wasting our time for no reason"

which is also the problem with rosatrice

like no, I don't think r07 told an entire thematically consistent story just so a smarter person could go "but what if that was all bullshit and instead the story I made up in my head happened"

I mean. They're suggesting a strategy that was used in-universe to great effect.
