I either stay where I am with +35 years or jump ship for a possible 10-15% pay increase.

Annual health insurance coverage is now going to cost me more money per paycheck which is beginning to make it not worth it to stay since I have not had a raise in years.

It is almost impossible to continue to work at my current job, but jumping to a new company puts me way down on the seniority list and I risk not being employed for another 10 years.

Leadership knows they have a retention issue as several have jumped to where I have been approached by.

I will be talking to my manager on Monday to get an idea about any possible raise.

I tried to downgrade my insurance 3 years ago and I am still paying for that mistake. I need the gold level insurance due to my meds and condition.

I will be telling my boss that it is close to the point where I can't afford to work for my current company and will have to jump ship for better pay.

So I am stressing out on staying or risking moving to an new company with no guarantees to stay with them for 10 years. If I stay I know I will be good for a decade or more.

I think so many people are in this same position right now. You are definitely not alone.

If they know they could lose you, perhaps they will raise your salary enough to be worthwhile. They often take loyal staff for granted and don't even know they are risking losing them.

OTOH, the move could be invigorating and there will already be former coworkers there so it won't be all strangers. I am sorry that you are depressed, though. I hope knowing people care about you helps.

(((Cajsa))) : Yes, both are true. The risk is that tech companies are in a purge cycle right now, I don’t want to jump and then have a greater chance of being let go at 60 years old. Too many companies want younger people they don’t have to pay as much. I will be using loyalty card when I talk to my boss.
