You know, French was really on to something with "it's going" being a totally acceptable answer to "how's it going"

Comment ça va? ça va. Seems legit
Dr. Yubsie
right?
Dr. Yubsie
don't have to always say it's going well when people ask how you are
🦋 𝓢𝓮𝓻𝓮𝓷𝓪 🦋
Very concise
🦋 𝓢𝓮𝓻𝓮𝓷𝓪 🦋
I mean, when people ask me how I am, I usually just say "I'm alive." Because, thanks French. <3
Dr. Yubsie
I'm going with "I'm alright" at the moment

Oh I didn't realize that's a French thing. I say that all the time in English.

It's the least depressing response I can give
Cerise ♢
I totally agree, French.
FʀᴏᴍTʜᴇFɪʀᴇ
you can answer this way in English if you aren't a coward
🙀sᴄᴀʀᴇDᴇᴇ Cᴀᴛ🙀
yeah it's a thing...Often used when someone (usually from the Midwest) is stressed lol, if you ask how they are, or how it's going, "It's going" and then you know they're in trouble LOL
CallMeShayna
Yup-yup!
🦋 𝓢𝓮𝓻𝓮𝓷𝓪 🦋
That's actually a holdover from the French influence in the Midwest!

"It's going" is my default answer to "How's it going" at this point
𝙰. 𝚆𝚊𝚔𝚎
I 1000% answer with "it's going" (LOL)
Lofwyr
Thinking more on it "it goes" as a response in German means "it's not going well bit I live" it's not neutral and now I'm just imagining fun misunderstandings based on this
Dr. Yubsie
"ça va" does imply things are going worse than "ça va bien" but it's still fairly neutral
Lofwyr
so probably everyone would get a sense of "don't ask" with a plain "it goes"
