is very funny considering those are the two who best model the kind of masculinity/aesthetic Yuki likes and I [delusion voice] anyway what if Yuki disliked being feminine entirely because Kyo said it was bad and baby Yuki admired him THAT much
or wait small self correction, there are two vectors on which he doesn't get along with Eddie, one is that Eddie is the like 'cope by not dwelling on things' type which Yuki genuinely finds off-putting and then the other is that he's the 'so comfortable in social situations that Yuki is jealous' type which is Yuki's type.
also I can totally see "baby yuki had critical levels of gender infection exposure for a long time with baby akito but was still producing antibodies but then baby kyo swung at his immune system with a baseball bat by being insecure and upset in his direction and the low level chronic gender infection developed into an acute case"
God of Brats
: he is like right on the line mostly due to feeling kind of flashy. I WAS ALSO [HANDWAGGLE] ABOUT JESPER IN THIS REGARD and Noel also could have felt too flashy but he didn't have the resources to actually dress up like a rockstar and his personality didn't compensate for it
this is now a plurk for Yuki's fashion sense which is extremely basic really but I don't know how to refer to it besides 'Japanese street fashion' but that could mean fucking anything including a great deal of things that definitely do not fall within Yuki's fashion sense
I just think he generally veers away from Japanese style aesthetics. but otoh a lot of Hanatsuki's men's designs and this outfit in particular don't really have that energy so maybe it's fine,
KYO'S ARC REALLY COULD HAVE BEEN A MUCH MORE POWERFUL DECONSTRUCTION OF TOXIC MASCULINITY with the comments he makes esp early series at Yuki and women and some of the actual femme male charas and with his insecurities and with a lot of his good points slotting into feminine-coded strengths like housework and reading people emotionally
