While they're all fighting your brain I just want to point out fucking up your ballot is something that happens all the time, so there's always ways to fix it (usually just filling out a provisional ballot, explaining what happened, signing it and turning it in).

So it's not even a big fuck up, it's something that happens so often that every state has built-in procedures for it

So you didn't mess up anything that can't be easily fixed

I work for my county board of elections during election day, and I can say with certainty that fucking up a ballot is like one of the most common things I deal with all day.

It is not a reflection on you as a person at all.

People do it all the time, and we have an entire procedure on how to deal with people fucking up their ballots because it's so common.

So, please... do not feel bad if you fuck up your ballot. It happens. It can easily be fixed.

No one's judging you for fucking up your ballot. If anything, if it's a slow election day, the people working will probably be thrilled (no sarcasm, really) just to have something to do like helping you with a fucked up ballot.

Otherwise, we just sit there and twiddle our thumbs for 16 hours.

Spoiled ballots, affidavits, using the accessible voting machine, handling absentee ballots that were hand delivered to us... like, please... give us some excitement!

^(the good kind of excitement, pls do not start climbing on chairs and drop kicking people, even if they deserve it)

(oh yeah... definitely that... do not start a fight in the polling place because we will be forced to call the cops, and no one wants that)

(but if I can tell you that you came to the wrong polling place and give you directions to the one you're supposed to be at, it's all good... I get that one a lot, too...)
