the latest thing I have learned about myself way later in life than I'd have thought: I like repetitive tasks.

for some reason, I assumed I would hate them, but it turns out I love things like shelling beans, cracking acorns, making dumplings, etc.

I have avoided repetitive tasks up until this year because I thought I hated them. I have no idea.

like, seriously, I've avoided growing multiple crops because I thought I'd hate the repetitive task of processing them, only to find out its a very calming, lovely process that I could do all day

possibly. or possibly you were expecting yourself to be neurotypical, and NTs frequently hate repetative tasks like that

whereas those of us on the Spectrum frequently LOVE that shit
