Fantasy martial art that incorporates magic the way Krav Maga incorporates guns
Villain
I am admittedly not a KM expert but like
Villain
My understanding is that the gimmick of KM is making your blocks and strikes into one motion
Villain
So you don’t block and then counter you do each with one hand
Villain
So I’m picturing a spellcaster who has like a sword in one hand and casts shitty quick spells with the other
Villain
A firebolt you cast with a quarter second of concentration won’t go more than two feet before falling apart
Villain
But if you’re doing it mid parry you don’t NEED to go any further than that because the guy is already right there
ѕαмѕα
and this is why bladesingers are awesome
Villain
They attack you and suddenly they’re on fire
Villain
ѕαмѕα : yea there’s a number of arcane melee fighters that kinda hit this idea
Villain
I’ve just always liked the idea of a melee fighter who dabbles with magic, but I always thought of them as two separate tools in their repertoire that fit different tactical situations
Villain
You fight a guy with your sword, then if an archer or something shows up you bust out your magic to take them out from a distance
Villain
But the idea of actually specifically training to incorporate the magic into your mundane fighting skills is a new and exciting idea to me
