This is why Maul tolerates Chara. Because it's like looking at a tiny version of himself from his teenage years, all full of arrogance and thinking he had all the answers. Took him a long while to realize he knew nothing about anything.

this is part of why Oscar isn't inherently mad at Chara for anything more than burning the house and upsetting Ange
