lol, yeah, I'd noticed that too, that I'm mostly just complaining lately. It's a combination of things and the noise is the final straw in most of it so that's what gets complained about

and IDK what's happening at the end of the year anyway - cousin got married to a girl in Vietnam, there's a baby on the way and he's applied for a spousal visa for her, I have literally no idea whether he's planning on moving her into this house or already has another house to move into with her, no clue

might be worth exploring other options so that you don't have to scramble at the last minute. like maybe finding someone else who needs a roommate? sometimes living with someone who isn't already a friend and family member can be easier

either way i commiserate, because i had a shitty roommate living situation with a couple of friends and i know how hard it is to broach any kind of subject around being considerate with noise and even chipping in to do chores

that's part of the problem, I'm 40 and have literally never lived on my own, and it's the only way I'll be uhhh comfortable? Happy? IDK

and bestie (former roommate) says I've got her spare room while I find a place if it comes to that, which I appreciate

but that would absolutely only be temporary, she's super neurotic about cleaning (like to the point of washing the windows inside and outside every week)

and maybe she's not anymore! She's had her own place for a while now, and therapy, so that might just have been one of the anxiety 'this is what I can control so this is what I'm going to do' kinds of things, I honestly don't know.

but, I have emergency plan, I have a storage unit that's only about half full, I'll be fine

and I will say, cousin has gotten better at letting us know if he's going to be gone for more than the weekend, like the trip to Vietnam I knew about a couple weeks in advance, and he's doing a 6-week residency for his nursing program at the end of this month

If you don’t mind me asking (and if it’s too personal I get that), what’s the reason for not wanting to move out of state if it might mean more feasible living cost?

: No support network, basically, and not wanting to move away from my dad because while he's reasonably healthy he is getting up in years
