Well people consider the whole exchanging letters thing to be shoehorned in. Book 4 apparently doesn't count bc they weren't close enough for that in book 1-3.

Because friendships and relationships are one size fit all and always develop the exact same way.

The same one they've been using from the very start. It's really irritating.

It's not like Season 4 took place over 24 hours. There was plenty of time for a strong friendship to turn into romance! And they were certainly shown to be close friends during Season 3! (and earlier seasons but it was particularly prominent then)

Yeah, I know. But EVEN THEN it doesn't actually matter if they were friends or not. They decided they wanted to try dating. There shouldn't need to be any other reason or development.

But I swear everyone forgets Asami bringing Korra to the race track and how that was like Korra's Best Day Ever.
