re: law's diet: I mean he might NOT have been subsisting on mostly plant matter. he's from the Ice Place and in the real world Ice Places are - they're super reliant on animal matter for their diets because animals can digest the things that DO grow there in ways that humans can't.
keep in mind he was raised by rebels who were fighting back, and hiding away from the common slave camps. stealing from the renans would be one source of food, and they probably hunted some wild animals as well. ^^ and yes, there's likely some regular creatures that just weren't on screen.
