What do you think about Linden Lab Acquiring CasperTech ?

Oh wow - that's surprising! I hadn't heard. I'll have to think about that. Maybe it might mean marketplace/caspertech integration?

Someone else brought something up which is interesting re. this: Could a purchase of a mesh body from one of the big name makers (to end the body wars) be a thing also?

As someone who has never used Caspertech products and just sells things using the numerous existing methods of POP and retail management, I do not see the value for me, but I get that a lot of people use and depend on those products to do what they do. I suppose if my business was much more complicated that I would, but not currently.

It has always seemed to me that if I was going to use the full extent of what those products provide I would need to hire someone to manage it all.

I think it's a good thing. Hope Casper got well paid. I hope it's free for all to use. But I'll understand if it has a percent fee/sales tax.

if casper was looking to get out of the market, it's a super necessary move just to keep commerce functional in SL. while not the only vendor system, it's the most used, and there aren't as many options as there used to be. no contact auto redelivery is something really key they failed to build into the system (and i say this as someone who doesn't do it)

there's a lot of background....mess that i would love to see LL tackle to make ALL vendor systems work better. casper, and every other system, is held together with twine and duct tape, strapped onto the back of something that's constantly trying to shake it off. the communication system in SL is....wooo boy a nightmare, so i'd love to see moving towards

an ANS system like the marketplace for ALL transactions. full transaction history marketplace has instead of the bs 1-3 months would be nice too, but who knows if they even HAVE that.

i have ZERO desire to actually use casper's setup interface though, so i hope all that stays entirely separate and opt-in.
