[CW post surgery/drains] Okay, I need advice on whether this is an ER situation. But please DON'T PANIC, nothing terrible is happening to me right this second.

tl;dr the one (1) drain left on one side slipped out while I was showering. I've put a bandage over the site until the morning, when I will attempt to call my surgeon's office.

HOWEVER. IT IS SATURDAY.

If they don't pick up, I have to decide between leaving my left side without a drain until MONDAY (uuhhhhh) or... idk, trying the ER? Do they even handle that shit? Who do I contact for this.

I would at least call an urgent care facility and ask for a recommendation, if you can't reach the surgeon

They may tell you who can take care of it

I'm trying not to be too stressed about this--at the very least it's the side that was draining very little before I got the OTHER drains removed, leaving me with one on each side. (And then... uh, lmao.)

I just also know I can't leave it like this. Not... TERRIBLY looking forward to however they're going to put a new drain in, haha.

Urgent cares are definitely open on weekends, so. I'D REALLY PREFER TO JUST BE ABLE TO REACH MY SURGEON but it's not very Raile Luck of me and I admit that.

This is definitely an urgent care sort of advice if you can't get in touch with the surgeon themselves, but I literally never had drains after I had top surgery, soooooo hopefully it's okay?

I did actually ask him why that surgeon didn't use drains now, but unfortunately I can't remember the reasoning since it was a fair few years back now

Oof, yeah. I also have dyspraxia so I can imagine...... they do not go hand in hand that well. You've probably done pretty well to keep them in tact this long honestly.

Well. It's not clear if they're open or not. I left a message, and learned in their voicemail about a FIRE at another medical centre??? Fascinating, not relevant to my problem tho

Urgent Care told me to visit the ER of the hospital that did the drains to begin with. >:/ I'm now playing phone jockey with that hospital's ER, because that's an hour away and Joe JUST got home from work......
