[Anne Rice] You know I've never read interview with a vampire, the one and only Anne Rice series I ever read was the Lives of the Mayfair Witches, and I feel like I was literally the only person who read them

I only read through them once because they're extremely dense and all the characters are unlikable, but I was transfixed the entire way through in the way a house on fire is mesermizing

there's a lot of incest, paedophilia, some weird thing with a race of beings that get born from the witches fully grown???

the more I think about it the more bizarre it is

I think a lot of the story is told through letters too, but I can't be sure anymore

I tried rereading them once before but I couldn't get past the first few pages, they were so dry

if this is putting you off reading them good, they weren't good books

i read one mayfair witches book and it was a whole ass fever dream. i don't remember anything about it except the weird pregnancy

there was so much weird-ass pregnancy in it

in fact that was a central theme

also the unhappy marriage between two distantly related people? I'm struggling to remember who the main characters were
