much amused by "there are some well-wishers gathering here outside Balmoral and there are members of the press as well" - ie the latter are a different set of parasites, monetising the non-news and quite possibly wishing for the drama of a death announcement.

noting the death announcement happened and the media have been trying to outdo each other in singularly focused sycophancy ever since.

was suspicious on seeing the state of her hand in the photo with Liz Truss a couple of days ago. It's a bit like one of the popes where I remarked upon the state of his lips in a photo-op and he was dead shortly afterwards.

the resumption of normal telly service. Diana annoyed me by ruining the children's TV which I had got up early to watch (despite being a working adult!).
