We're only having movers move the furniture to both save a little bit of money and also so we can live in the new house and not in the house that's trying to kill all of us ASAP.
So there's a flurry to get the furniture ready to go by tomorrow morning, but then we'll have the whole rest of August to get everything ELSE out of the house.
Moving day generally went pretty well, there were some bumps but when are there ever not? Just now FINALLY got my desk and internet set up. (It's midnight here)
We were able to finally stop it, but not before water POURED into the bedroom. Thankfully we have not-carpet (I think it's laminate) in that area. But FUCK.
Basically either the foundation people didn't do their due dilligence in checking and/or reporting the pipe damage or, if they DID report the pipe damage, the sellers didn't disclose it, which is SUPER NOT GOOD for them.
And then we do also have homeowner's insurance, but, based on the information we got, they can probably prove that this was pre-existing, so we're not counting on that.
good luck! do not melt!
