while finding this i also found an article full of unsubstantiated claims about the original (better) plans for finn and it hurt my heart too much to continue

That only really works when you don't LINK to the random youtuber's youtube video on it and say something like "according to anonymous sources close to [someone important]"

The only other major deviation I know about is that, apparently, he was supposed to sacrifice himself in The Last Jedi, but higher-ups didn't like that. I doubt that's true, though, because the "We'll beat them with love!" thing doesn't seem like a last minute rewrite and Johnson had enough free reign to kill off Luke Skywalker, so why not Finn?

Honestly, the Star Wars fandom has bullied so many people over the years over minor bullshit that I'm almost glad their franchise is in Disney's hands
