What’s worse is that many municipalities are prevented by law from zoning for anything else in residential areas. Not Just Bikes had a good video about that - I’ll have to dig it up later.

On the other hand, we live in a single family home with a housemate [had two but one had to move to a different state for gender affirming care, because DeathSentence], and once we get everything fixed up, we're going to be doing a food garden and possibly a couple of chickens. That said, I always wondered by there aren't more tall apartment buildings ...

Fearyfox(Reyn) : sounds like you’ve got a great setup! Single-family homes themselves are ok. It’s just the proliferation of them in America, along with sprawling suburbia and NIMBYs, that make them such a blight. But American towns aren’t designed to be walkable anyway.
