Godzilla might've missed a few visits to the farm last month. It was a very busy time for the boy

He has had a lot of ocean to patrol...

Kaiju blood to help clean up, selkies to rescue. Atlantis to tour...

All of which probably took longer than dealing with the kaijus proper

He'll be very relieved to come back to something simple like guarding the chickens

Bart probably has to chide him not to overfeed the grubterra treats.

But how else are you supposed to make up for lost roaming and feeding time!

They got tractor time, it just wasn't free-range time. Still got greens and whatever bugs were there.

Bart probably ONLY lets them free range when Godzilla is there.

Helps to have a lookout who can see very far away and intimidate everything that'd try to hurt them

Mostly because it's not hard for a giant nuclear-powered dinosaur to keep a dozen chickens from going far.

And yeah. I really doubt they have to worry about stray dogs, coyotes, raccoons, foxes, etc.

Poor things might be a little restless after a while without

Their normal routine is to go to one of the smaller mobile enclosures when Bart wakes up and stay there until it's time to go back to the safer night coop. And Bart moves the coops every few days so they get different areas and nothing gets pecked bare.

They'll at least have something, then. That's good

He didn't want them to truly free-range because that's a lot of work and they could go missing, but he wanted them to get the enrichment and nutrition of foraging. Hence the mobile coops with runs.
