man slice and dice just consumed me utterly for about 72 hours and then vanished from my brain
Quinnfernal
it was a great game but pretty quickly all the runs start to feel the same
Quinnfernal
like if STS was just the Ironclad
Quinnfernal
minimal unlocks, no staying power
Quinnfernal
beat Hard, got to floor 39 on endless, called it a day
DIE!Ba Nana
You know what? That sounds exactly like what I got out of Shovel Knight Pocket Dungeon
Quinnfernal
Dawncaster is starting to drag too, the jump between difficulty levels is just so absurdly massive that I can always win on normal and never win on hard
DIE!Ba Nana
Just absolutely obsessed with playing it for like, 48 hours then the runs started feeling too similar and I was like "yeah that's enough"
Quinnfernal
the endboss goes from 300 health to over 800 health and still has an attack that does damage equal to 10% of missing health
Quinnfernal
so if you can't do like 500 damage per turn then you'll start getting hit for 70 damage with one attack out of your cap of like 95 health
Quinnfernal
this is why ascensions are so good as a mechanic
Quinnfernal
they make the difficulty creep super gradual
ғᴏxʏᴍᴏʀᴏɴ
i beat the final boss on Difficult, like... twice, i think, in dawncaster
ғᴏxʏᴍᴏʀᴏɴ
out of a Whole Lot of attempts
Quinnfernal
how many of those two involved a pre-nerf goldstrike
ғᴏxʏᴍᴏʀᴏɴ
zero, actually
ғᴏxʏᴍᴏʀᴏɴ
it wasn't consistent
ғᴏxʏᴍᴏʀᴏɴ
one was a Warrior deck that just abused the everloving shit out of Brittle
ғᴏxʏᴍᴏʀᴏɴ
and one was a rogue poison/venomancing deck
