Rant warning.

I'm so sick and tired of people who think that the solution to rising fascism in this country is to decide a couple three states need to leave; And its never the northern states; its always the South.

News flash, there is fascism in every state in this country. Instead of screwing over the immediate victims of horrid gerrymandering, maybe just get out and freaking vote, and shut your yap if you don't know what you're talking about.

I promise you that Texas, much like Illinois, Florida, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and other seemingly red states, have islands of blue. Those islands are the big cities with the biggest concentration of population, but with gerrymandering and voter suppression, and other shenanigans..... yeah.

I can appreciate this and you're right. I was raised and live in northeaste NJ, almost always not much more than 20 miles outside of NYC. We have tons of Trumpers around. My old home city had a KKK rally. So much for the so called east coast liberals

Its just frustrating because if we did move, it'd be to either Georgia, Alabama or Texas - most likely, or close enough to where when work trips were needed, it wouldn't be too bad of a drive [which still leaves us in 'red' states, that certain people think would be better off going off on their own.

Not just every state - all over the world. I lived in the EU for eleven years and it was an issue there, too, more and more. Now I live in NC and it's a very purple kind of place, where you never know who is going to show up and the gerrymandering is INSANE. I feel you.

thaumata: I lived in Europe but it was so long ago, and far away, basically - but yeah, I keep up with the news best I can, and its scary - money really is the root of all evil, because I'll wager a good part of it is from people being bought, or being promoted into being more influential than they should be.
