Octopus electricity have been a bit weird (and predatory) in not waiting for my regular meter reading date and billing me a day early for a hugely overestimated amount instead.

that, even though they took over from the previous people not that long before the pandemic (Nov.2019), they ought to have enough data to have made a more accurate / honest assessment of my electricity usage. But none of the companies I've been unfortunate enough to get passed to has ever managed that.
