Yeah I am learning quite a bit about Gale, at least between the lines. He has some serious abandonment issues so even if he does think Astarion's biting thing is...hmmm...abandoning him would be so much worse.

honestly yeah, it takes a lot to set off Gale's dad-is-angry-at-you party leaving talk (which I mean is true of all of them, but I do like that he'll still stick around if Tav is being Awful, he just is vocal about it), and I could be wrong since I still haven't played much patch 7 but I kind of remember him walking it back

I am still working though as many scenarios as I can, but that Gale can be passive aggressive and make deals with devils if you break a promise to him is something special and I never want to see it again.

yeahhh a lot of people that play BG3 tend to get really weird about the companions and whether or not they're valid/trustworthy/whatever because [insert pedantic tabletop alignment chatter here]

they'll dig up all kinds of tangential evidence to support it without thinking like: oh this dude is an abused slave, oh this woman's spent her whole life being indoctrinated, oh this guy literally asks you for help and if you break that of course he'll be pissed, etc

Yeah as of right now it's a lot of speculation and I feel like Wyll and Gale are put into a special category of most likely to betray you with no evidence other than they are nice, but when they aren't nice it hurts the feels so they must be sketch.
