I started out trying to get all of the Emeralds in Sonic 2… but then missed one, and went, "Ah, heck it; I'll try again some other time." That 'other time' led to a discovery that this particular version also allows you to lose Rings ten at a time, which is wild. I turned that off post-haste; I don't need it. Good on M2 to add it, though.
As for Ecco? I just wanted to mess around in the starting level… but went a bit further once I realized that I accidentally enabled the invincibility cheat. I didn't even realize that there were cheats for Ecco besides level selection. Wild. I still didn't complete more than the introductory level, though. Maybe some other time.
As for Rival Showdown? I beat the game in Beginner; now I'm playing in Normal. (Trust me, you need to start off at the former level in order to make any dent in the foes of the latter.) I ended up getting the Weird Ending, which leaves things unresolved… but given that two moves are locked behind it, that's fine by me.
