having like 20+ insurance options is actually a huge pain in the ass bcse you have to wade through the mire to figure out which one is REALLY the best fit.
NewYearSameMe
this is my first world problem of the day.
NewYearSameMe
Oh no I have too many options
dkronfeld
That is literally not a first world problem (LOL)
NewYearSameMe
dkronfeld : it kind of is. TOO Many insurance op[tions?
Raynee
Hmm, I don't know though. I'd rather just have healthcare and private insurance be an add-on, but it is what it is here in the US. Still, I am glad you have options! Options are so much better than none.

Jacob starts his new job in Denver and they sent over his benefits package to look at before he starts. They have insurance through the same company (UnitedHealthCare) that I have our insurance at, and he's still on mine. So now we get to compare if the new one would give him the same coverage and the difference in price. Then decide if he wants to just stay
Raynee
on mine or pay for his own. Supposedly he can have other insurance and it won't effect his coverage - at least that's what my package says, but I'm not sure if that works if he has 2 separate policies with the same company. What a pain.
Raynee
Sorry for hijacking your plurk... dammit. lol

I think what Dave is saying is that we are the only 1st world country with this type of problem. Other countries have health insurance as a given.
NewYearSameMe
ah well...he's mocking our status. I WILL KILL HIM.
NewYearSameMe
anyway most of the plans are some high deductible bullshit or they cost 600 per pay period so LOL NO BITCH. it's finding which one in the middle that fits best for two people with serious business health issues.
dkronfeld
You're making my case for me :-P
dkronfeld
(Qwis is right. You have the best health care in the world, but the way it's made available to the general population is absolutely 3rd world. And that's not really fair to many of the places considered 3rd world)

Our lives are pure tragedy.
