despite the fact that this event is being summarized to me I am having trouble thinking of how to convey it. I'm going to quote shit that came out of this man's mouth from earlier stories while I try to remember how words work.

he's from a kakure Kirishitan family and the room he grew up in as his childhood bedroom still has burns and shit from people being tortured and burned at the stake FOR SOME REASON? he was raised to think that people would not accept him for being Christian and so he became an idol originally largely out of desperation to be accepted and NOT TURBOMURDERED

but he ended up going to an idol school with a caste system where the special class students (who are actual idols) get to treat the non-special class students (who are actually BARRED FROM BECOMING IDOLS) like literal slaves

Tatsumi wanted things to be fair and equal and tried to help the non-special class students which led to him uhhhh starting a cult.

which spiraled into a communist revolution and then spiraled further into Tatsumi taking all of the work onto himself because if anyone else helped him it would create a discrepancy between them and people who were not helping. because his mental and physical health had degraded to the point where he was just clinging to his religion and ideals to keep going

but people could not understand what the fuck he was doing because of that because his priorities didn't even seem human anymore. so in his efforts to not be seen as a monster he became seen as a monster,

anyway he overworked himself into the hospital.

he is UNBELIEVABLY offputting sometimes and absolutely vibes like a villain and also he loves so much.
