I'm confident that this was written in an attempt to win some kind of "how close can you get to incest without it technically being incest" contest
TᴏᴡɴIɴsɪᴅᴇMᴇ🐻
actually this is a very, like. old trope in japanese romantic comedies
TᴏᴡɴIɴsɪᴅᴇMᴇ🐻
and i do mean centuries old
TᴏᴡɴIɴsɪᴅᴇMᴇ🐻
it's not great, but it's established

the "i didn't realize i was related to this family and now they want to marry their daughter off to me"
Phas|DippedOut

Yeah, like... even if you argue the main couple isn't technically incest (they were switched at birth, so his birth parents are her adoptive parents and vice versa), he does have a sister, who is introduced complaining/fearing that she's losing her brother and then promptly sitting down to read NBR incest manga just so we're clear about her motivation here.

according to the character descriptions they were both raised by each other's birth parents

Because while we're at it let's devalue non-bio families

also like just to put another layer of what the fuckery on this, they're asking us to accept opposite gender switched at birth?
big woop
like unless one of these kids is trans, the families... would have noticed, surely
