I will say the top ten list of best selling (physical) books did surprise me

It took 25 years but One Piece is (sort of) slowing down and the reasons given make sense.

Opposed to something like Detective Conan where one can jump in at any point and get up to speed with the basics pretty fast, you really

Can’t

Do that with One Piece at this point

its scope and complexity is becoming unmanageable

I don’t think I’d quite phrase it like that. It’s perfectly manageable within the context of; “if you read One Piece”

It’s onboarding NEW readers or, god forbid, watchers

It’s like throwing someone into Wheel of Time at the tenth book.

Or even Stormlight Archive at like. The second.

One Piece’s narrative and its storytelling devices are not inherently complex, there’s just. So much of it.

That it becomes both a strength and weakness at the exact same time.

Also seeing the bump that Demon Slayer and Jujutsu Kaisen got from their anime, it’s outside the realm of the physical magazine but I really hope Spy x Family gets a nice solid bump from its one this season.

I don’t think it’ll do THOSE numbers but.
