I think a real issue with the Dance of the Dragons aside from how convoluted it is, and how the convolutedness kind of appeals to the same toxic fanboy crowd who obsess over shit like what some tertiary house is doing politically in some battle in ASOIAF and write weird Jon Snow harem fanfic

Anyway, the issue is that neither side in the Dance is really totally sympathetic. Itโs basically like... 80% of the people involved are assholes in one way or another. It should be interesting to watch, but there is going to be a lot of fandom discourse from people who donโt understand that itโs a story full of villain protagonists.

There are definitely innocent victims too -- Rhaenyraโs kids are mostly good kids, Helaena absolutely doesnโt deserve anything that happens to her, etc.
