I have a friend who became a chiropractor and she went to a really well respected (and fucking expensive school) and they learned a lot of medical knowledge - none of which showed up on the board exams. She showed me some of the questions for the board exams and one of them was about weather patterns.
I went to see a chiropractor after I injured my back and they took a bunch of xrays and told me how fucked up my neck is, and I was like, but I hurt my back!!! I think I did two more appointments and was in more pain so I went to my doctor who was like, look, go to a chiropractor if you have a rib out of alignment, but you go on a weekly or even bi-weekly
basis, you are signing yourself up for more trouble in the long run. She sent me to a sports medicine place and they helped SO much more. Anyway, thank you for coming to my Ted Talk sponsored by Zee's Plurk.
chiropractic is considered a pseudoscience like reiki and crystals and healing energy. people do it because they believe it makes them feel better and there's nothing wrong with that. no different from prayer and the healing powers people believe in. but yeah, dont go to get medical help.
So, apparently there are two schools of thought in Chiropracty - sane and Life College cultists [my spouse worked for Life - never heard someone so glad to be 'fired from Life' in my life.
