He really is just a very normal lil guy.

I took him from Act 6, so he'd mostly resolved his problems, but he's still, unfortunately, a really sickly kid when it comes to stress.

If I remember right, his fevers started on his birthday when he was still in elementary school. He got really excited to go to the zoo or something and then his body made him get a fever because he was looking forward to it too much.

After that it continued, either he was too hyped, or too anxious, and his body processed this as a fever, every single time. And after the first time, it just! Kept! Getting! Worse!

Kumon was on the baseball team prior to the start of year 2, but because of his condition he really missed every single game day. He'd have a fever, and then he'd have to be bedridden, but he was always fine the day after. Nobody outside of his family knew he had an anxiety disorder so it just looked weird and suspicious.

He quits baseball at the start of year 2, and tried to join Autumn Troupe in Mankai. He also dissed Summer comedy acts, because he'd never seen one. (Which is still wild to me, his cousin is in Summer? He never watched any? This baby?)

He accompanies them to a different stage and helps out as a stage hand. There he learns to appreciate everybody who is acting is taking it very seriously, and he apologizes for being a huge jerk about comedy.

He asks for a test to prove he's good enough and it's truly just.... the most nothing I've ever seen. Somehow he thinks sad and happy sound exactly alike, it's hilarious, it's horrible. He does get better with direction though.

Eventually the day of comes, and he's full of anxiety, but both his big brother and his cute cousin are here and Summer really helps him out by putting on a dumb little skit that calms his nerves.

He manages to pass the test and says that actually! He would like to be Summer! He wants to make people laugh and forget about their stresses for a little while.

He does end up having to confront his former battery partner, and uh.... a black haired teen saves him and almost breaks the other guy's arm.

Anyway they're best friends.

Kumon has a slight fever before the first performance of "First Crush Baseball" but his friends manage to stop the anxiety from getting too bad. But then he thinks about how much of a gap there is between him and the others and the anxiety comes back full force right before closing night.

He does manage to power through the night, make up is a life saver, did you know?

But also the fevers and stress catch up to him, and he just. faints.

I think, oddly, this whole aside of being in a murdergame didn't necessarily change him much? Because I took him from the end of Act 6 instead of the beginning, he already had the whole idea of "Everything is less scary when you aren't alone" and was a lot more honest with himself from that point.

He did end up with a lot more trauma than a3 tends to give him, specifically. Like he Did learn he would absolutely fight back if he was being killed, thanks to w1 cyoa but he also he learned he hated doing that.
