( 4 ) What are your character’s political beliefs? If your character is from a fictional world, are there political parties or groups that share these beliefs?
NO THIS IS HALF A JOKE but i have thought very hard about the first half of this question and i think my answer is truly something like anarcho-communism. he is from an authoritarian state, he wants to break it, and he very loftily wants to usher in a new world order via what i can only describe as turning the timeline into a balloon animal
in tsc there are 3 primary political factions: the tech, civic, and frontier (environment) factions and they all want him dead or to use him as their weapon and it's a lot so no he doesnt affiliate himself with any of them. he technically shares this ideal with.... okay you're all going to look at me like i'm pepe silvia right now
kosuke kurumizawa, the main villain of the 25th ward! he wants to remake the world for the sake of order alone, and basically both he and kamui are doing this by literally fucking with the video game
the difference is that kurumizawa fundamentally believes that people should be fully controlled and kamui's mission is creating a world that benefits the people themselves in spite of the darkness that exists within humanity. he's a good bean. he's going to join the hell DSA and he's going to participate.
also fun fact there are TWO entire cults started up in kamui's name. neither of them are based on the kamui i play, himself, they are based on him as a social movement.
( 5 ) Is your character religious? If so, do they follow the (or one of the) major religion(s) of their culture, or a different one? If not, are they more of an atheist, agnostic, or spiritualist (or none of the above)? he is not religious but i feel like he probably believes in the flow of the universe and timeline in a way thats pseudo-religious
like culturally he will go along with some religiously-linked japanese customs but the only thing he trusts in is the fabric of the universe and the link between his world and the world outside, aka the fourth wall, really.
( 1 ) Does your character feel like they fit in with the culture they grew up in, or were they out of place? his conditioning was designed to allow him to assimilate, so he assimilated very flawlessly into japanese culture as a normal unremarkable guy. as a result of pushing down all the trauma of the shelter project though i think it also felt...
( 7 ) How much formal education has your character had? How does this compare to the average citizen of their homeland? Did they enjoy their education or was it a struggle? he's a high school graduate and has gone through the silver case bullshit equivalent of japanese police academy LOL. ive waved my hand to say detective stuff is an extra year on that
it's about average. i dont think he ever considered doing anything different because it was, again, the path laid out for him. but he did enjoy it because he does really have a knack for it!
( 12 ) Your character believes something that is at odds with what the rest of their family and/or friends believe. Do they talk about it with them? If so, how do they approach the subject? he has no friends next question
NO i think he would try to gently redirect if it were something that were really important or if it was someone he liked; for most stuff he would probably just be like ok whatever bro we all have our separate beliefs and leave it. i think it would be a very big step up in growth if he tried to fight with somebody over something like this. i want him to argue
( 13 ) Imagine your character walks into a party, bar, or other room full of people and feels instantly at home, among their own kind, etc. What kind of people are there? is it cheating to say other shelter kids? almost 3k kids received the same exact reeducation that he did, and they're all kind of fundamentally fucked up in the same ways since uh
they arent a hivemind, but mentally, theyre all imprinted on with the template of becoming kamui. im really sorry i have to tell you all these insane things about the silver case HAHAHHA
in canon there's a few male and female detectives on all sides + some side characters who are also shelter kids. every time they meet in canon they have a like jojo stand user underlying comprehension of each other, it's weird.
( 9 ) Does your character speak any languages other than their native tongue(s)? If so, where did they learn it/them? Do they use it regularly? the original kamui spoke several but i think 25w kamui probably only knows japanese and english fluently. he learned it in school and probably pursued it a little on his own, and yes, he speaks it regularly!
( 1 ) Does your character feel like they fit in with the culture they grew up in, or were they out of place? NO HE WAS BULLIED AND PEOPLE WERE RACIST TO HIM FOR BEING CHINESE
he also had his powers from an early age so he was probably also made fun of his weird beet eating habits / freaking out when he ate things that weren't beets, but at least that was not also racism
( 2 ) Is your character happy with the place that they live? If not, what don’t they like about it? Are they trying to leave? Would they be able to if they did try? honestly..... he likes philly! even if he didn't like it he would probably not leave because in spite of his grumpiness that's where his family and job are based
( 7 ) How much formal education has your character had? How does this compare to the average citizen of their homeland? Did they enjoy their education or was it a struggle? same as kamui but at least i have canon evidence: high school, then police academy (except of course he's american). he liked it, but he had more of A Time than kamui because
he is not religious but i feel like he probably believes in the flow of the universe and timeline in a way thats pseudo-religious
