I figured out how to use a digital Transfer Pak, so I finally gave Stadium a shot. I started off with one of the tournament leagues, then realized that what I wanted to do was Gym Leader Road.

My team through the battles:

• Dragaux (Dragonite)
• Typhon (Gyarados)
• Rhaegar (Nidoking)
• Jackle (Gengar)
• Magicant (Alakazam)
• Mishy (Persian)

If that last one sounds a little sus to you… well, it isn't, because Gen 1 mechanics are blithering dumb.

Y'see, in RBY, attacks involving critical hits are tied on the speed of your pokémon, and not just a flat chance.

Persian is relatively fast.
Persian also has Slash.
Persian has STAB on a move that is literally guaranteed to crit.

Hence, Persian is usually dumb in Generation 1… and only Generation 1.

Fucking Gen 1, man.
