It's nearly tragic that some-unbelievable-how, the travesty of waste of celluloid that is Paul Verhoeven [:spit:]'s Starship Troopers, a celebration of stupidity, is now regarded as some kind of classic.
I had an interesting reaction to the much-anticipated film - I went with a geekish couple of friends, and spoke over TGIFriday's afterwards about our unsettlement. The longer I was out of that cinema, the angrier I got about the film, and not just in comparison to the novel.
