DH gave me his cold. Not terrible but have a headache now and can't concentrate on writing. Took a break to waste time on local moms group. Did not realize today is Ivy day. Holy cow, now really have a bad headache.

On another note, sending vibes to any AN/plurk kids waiting for tonight or tomorrow! Not looking forward to doing it again next year.

Oof! I'm not sure I know anyone waiting on Ivies but the UC acceptances (or lack thereof) have been brutal so far.

Some of C's good friends are scrambling bc they only applied a few places and have only rejections so far - they didn't think they could apply OOS/WUE or weren't allowed to, even their safe school was a no, so they are thinking community college.

It's too late to get into the guaranteed CSUSM. I feel awful for them.

That's similar to what happened S's friend Racheal last year - she got no college offers here (despite excellent grades) and ended up in Ukraine!

We know some people with sea of waitlists, though everyone has some sort of acceptance if not necessarily the school they are eager to attend. I think sometimes CC may be better option than getting in debt for a school you don't really like.

I think the college process in the US has reached insanity levels and I am quite dismayed how many colleges are simply playing into it by encouraging everyone to apply and boosting their rankings.

Still congested, not sure how much of it is cold vs allergies as stuff started blooming here. Plus my period arrived, with lousy cramps etc. just whining now but every year I look forward to spring arriving and always end up messed up when it does.
