a lot of it has to do with just endless mental and physical fatigue

up at 3:30 am, on average between 3-5 hours of sleep maybe if I'm lucky, and a whole lot of standing on concrete does not make for a creative mind

god fuck i had an art teacher similar to that like... i had one cool art thing and then she expected all my work to be on that level. i had one piece i still hate to look at because it "wasn't what she wanted"

all the figure drawing / gesture stuff that is timed forces you to stop tweaking endlessly, what comes out is meant to be bad, and helps getting back into the act of moving a pencil across paper. and since they can be done in a short amount of time, you don't have to commit to like, hours of it the way you would if you drew your own picture

but i guess the other thing is to look internally at what is preventing you from moving forward; art is more often than not a mental battle than a skill problem. and from here it just straight up sounds like physical exhaustion is a huge barrier
